Millstream Preserve was founded in 1996 by Don Favry with the intention of establishing the premier upland bird shooting experience in New England. Our preserve has widely varying terrain, and we can tailor your hunt to your ability and desire. From level and clear trails and fields, to paths that can accommodate scooter-assisted mobility, you can have a wonderful upland experience no matter what the age and mobility requirements of your group. Additionally, we offer wild game hunts on over 2,000 acres of leased farmland. During the Connecticut hunting seasons, we offer outstanding deer, duck, turkey, geese, rabbit and coyote hunts. We think we have succeeded on all counts, and we invite you to experience Millstream Preserve with us. This exceptional sporting experience is within an easy drive of Hartford, New Haven New London, and most anywhere in Connecticut, as well as, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island, NYC or State. Our guided hunts are available seven days a week from September 15th through March 31st every year. Because we are a private hunting preserve no hunting license is required to hunt ”Upland Game” at Millstream. This applies to both residents and non-residents of Connecticut.
Millstream provides this exceptional sporting and bird hunting experience in a relaxed and non-threatening environment. Because of this, many of our regular customers have used Millstream as the facility to introduce their wives, children, nieces, and nephews that are new to our sport to experience the joys of upland game hunting. Additionally, Millstream has made great efforts to make our facility handicap accessible so many others can also enjoy the thrill of hunting.
Since our inception, Millstream has both male and female guides that are talented, courteous, and enjoyable partners to have on your hunt. Our championship dogs are exceptional; however, you are welcome to bring your own dog(s) along for your hunt. There is pastry and coffee included with all hunts. Our goal is to make your experience at Millstream an enjoyable and memorable one.
